I am a human resources professional, currently heading the HR department of an International Charity organisation. Human Resource Management is my passion and I try to be creative and innovative in my approach towards HR. According to me, it is a very dynamic area to work in, because HR is in an exciting phase and its a slow progression towards its being developed as a holistic behavioral science. To sustain in a HR role, a professional has to develop knowledge in Psychology, Sociology, Statistics, Finance, Anthropology, Political science, diplomacy, besides studying HR as a major in a business school. The dynamics of HR is ever-changing and to be successful, one has to keep the pace up. The biggest challenge of a HR professional is to inculcate HR management skills in the Line Managers and be a partner of the management and be involved in all strategic decisions. There is also a need of objectivity in the HR role, beyond jingoism and i feel that HR professionals are more of "Human Relations" professionals and not merely "Human Resources" professionals, although it is essential that HR people "walk the talk" and not talk more of "jargon" Besides HR, i am passionate about writing fiction (poetry, stories) and writing on contemporary political and generic issues. I also enjoy traveling, specially to the hills and cooking. I am also fond of reading books, especially books on leadership & management by eminent authors/practitioners like Steven Covey, Max Landsberg, Jack Welch, Shiv Khera etc. Please have a look at the video by Shiv Khera! Besides being inspired by a lot of Role models like Tagore, Lincoln and Mahatma Gandhi, I am inspired by Dr. Tushar Guha, Personality Development Guru and performing artist. He heads Nrityanjali, an Institute of management services and performing arts and is one of the most positive people I have ever met. My Current area of interest is Positive Psychology, an exciting field of positivity and happiness.
| This is one of my favourite poem, by a Spanish Poet of Romanian Origin 'Marin Sorescu'. He has been an inspiration to many poets, including one of the greatest poet in India, "Gulzar" With a green scarf I blindfolded At once the trees caught me, I blindfolded the birds The birds caught me Then with a smile I blindfolded I blindfolded the sun I know where you are, the sun said, Don’t bother to hide any longer, ![]() |
